Gardens by the bay singapor

Gold Museum – Gold Museum

The Gardens by the Bay are the largest park in Singapore and have become, by their own merit, the symbol of the city and its most popular attraction. They cover an area of 101 hectares and are home to more than one million plants from five continents.

The “Supertrees” are the park’s most iconic structures. These 18 giants, ranging from 25 to 50 meters in height, in addition to endowing the atmosphere with a magical air, are enveloped by an outdoor vertical garden, and have solar panels on top.

Most of these “trees” are located in the area known as Supertree Groove -in the center of the park-, and, if you want to see the gardens from above, the two largest are connected by a 128-meter-long walkway.

The Gardens by the Bay (Taman di Pesisiran in Malay, Gardens by the Bay in English, 滨海湾花园 in Chinese and வளைகுடா தோட்டம் in Tamil) is a 101 ha (250 acres) Singapore park erected on reclaimed land in the Central Singapore region,[1] adjacent to the Marine Reserve.

The park is part of the government’s policies to make Singapore a “city within a garden” with the initial aim of “enhancing the quality of life along with the flora and fauna” of the city.

It has an area of 32 ha (79 acres) and two kilometers of promenade leading to the Marina Reservoir. The site was the venue for the 2010 Singapore Youth Olympic Games. In October 2011, the first phase of the garden was inaugurated, allowing access to the waterfront bridge.[4] In October 2011, the first phase of the garden was inaugurated.

For the realization of this concept they were inspired by the orchid, the national symbol of Singapore, exactly the Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim. In addition to the orchards, the garden has several services depending on which part of the flower one is in: root (conservatories),[6] leaves (platforms), bud (paths, roads and crossroads), secondary roots (water, power and communication lines) and petals (theme gardens and intersections).

In contrast to the dense urban environment of skyscrapers and high-rise buildings in Singapore, Gardens by the Bay is part of the government’s overall strategy to transform Singapore into the “city in a garden.”

It’s not just the variety of flora in Gardens by the Bay that makes it stand out – it’s also the comprehensive sustainability efforts that go into making the gardens an eco-friendly attraction. Sustainability is a fundamental tenet of the planning and construction processes with great care taken to ensure that energy and water are used efficiently.

Much of the area that makes up Marina Bay was landed in the 1970s. As part of that process the Singapore River was rerouted so that it flowed into the bay rather than directly into the sea.

In the 1990s, part of the area that had been landfilled was occupied by the Suntec City complex, which included the Suntec City Mall (which was the largest shopping mall in the city until 2006), the Suntec City Office Towers (5 towers of 45 stories each) and the Wealth Fountain (the largest man-made fountain in the world up to that time).
